- King & Shaxson
was highlighted in the 15th December 2007 edition of the market leading
Thompson International Financing Review (IFR) under the heading "
Flexibility the broking key "as playing a proactive part in the raising
of a small number of transactions in the private placement arena.
- King & Shaxson continues to expand, we have recruited four new members of staff, Tim Cartmell and Kevin Chivers join our Bond Team, Malcolm Macdonald is added to Fund Management, and Stephen Lott joins Institutional Equities. All are very experienced in their relevant fields, and we wish them well in their new careers.
Tim joins us from Dresdner Bank, Kevin from Daiwa Securities, Malcolm from Efficient Capital Management LLC, and Stephen joins us from Arbuthnot Securities.
- The K&S Premier Fund, our UK equity Long/Short absolute return vehicle, continues to perform very well. After the ninth 'up' month in a row, the NAV in May 2008 advanced a further 2.66%, making 9.16% for the YTD; NAV is up 23.72% over the last twelve months. The fund has been trading for 29 months, over which time the NAV has appreciated 48.07%; in the 11 'down' market months during the period the fund has returned 0.38% on average, thus conserving capital.
- The King
and Shaxson Ethical Balanced Income Fund announced its second 2.25p
dividend payable to holders on November 9th 2007.
- The King
and Shaxson Bond Team helped re-open a sterling FRN private placement
for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia maturing 23 Nov 2010, placing
£12 Million with Institutional Investors. (16 Nov 07)
- The King
and Shaxson Bond Team arranged for a tap of the ANZ 13 Dec 2011 Sterling
FRN issue for £35 Million which they placed with an Institutional
Investor. (28 Nov 07)
- The King
and Shaxson Bond Team arranged and placed a new £45 Million 2 year
FRN issue for the Bank of Scotland Plc maturing 21 Dec 2009 with Institutional
Investors. (13 Dec 2007)
- December was
generally a good month for ethical funds including the King and Shaxson
ethical funds with the low to moderate risk Balanced Income fund up
1.56% on the month to December 31st and the higher risk Green Solutions
fund up 3.80%. The FTSE all share provided a total return of 0.27%
and the MSCI index 2.68% - source King and Shaxson/ Bloomberg.
